Privacy Policy for Warranty Box

The app does not require an account, does not use login, does not use Firebase, and does not provide its own user backend.

What data the app stores locally

Warranty Box stores data locally on the device in a local database and app-managed local files. This may include:

• case and record names, categories, shop or provider names, purchase and warranty dates, subscription dates and status,
• notes, optional account email fields, billing cycle details, costs, renewal details and custom reminder times,
• tasks, checklist items, completion status, linked records and due dates,
• local settings, dictionaries, progress-related values and locally cached Pro access state,
• references to locally stored photos and document images attached to records.

The app is designed as offline-first. There is no cloud sync and no server copy of user cases, tasks, notes, photos or documents on MW Interactive servers.

Photos and documents

Users can attach photos of receipts, documents and other files to records. These photos and document images are stored locally on the device. Warranty Box does not send those files to MW Interactive servers.

If a user exports a backup ZIP or shares data manually, the destination is chosen by the user. Backup ZIP files can contain cases, tasks and photo files, so they should be shared only with people the user trusts.

OCR processing

The app processes document photos locally on the device to recognize text. Photos and full OCR text are not sent to MW Interactive servers.

OCR results are meant to help fill fields faster. Users should review recognized data before saving it in a record.

Ministry of Finance VAT lookup

If the user uses the company lookup feature based on a Polish tax ID, the app may send only the tax ID (NIP) and the query date to the public Ministry of Finance VAT register API. The purpose of this request is only to download public company data.

Photos, document images, notes and full OCR text are not sent in that request. Warranty Box may locally cache the result for the same NIP and date to avoid repeated lookups.

Ads

The Free version of Warranty Box may display banner ads delivered by Google AdMob. Google may process device identifiers, IP address and other technical data according to its own policies and ad configuration.

Warranty Box itself does not use those ads to create its own independent user profiles. Purchasing Pro removes ads.

In-app purchases

Warranty Box offers a Pro purchase handled by Google Play Billing. Pro removes ads and unlocks unlimited OCR and PDF usage.

MW Interactive does not receive or store the user's card number or full payment credentials. The app may store a local cached flag that Pro access is active so the purchased features can be recognized and restored on the device.

Google Play handles payment processing and restore flows under its own terms and policies.

Notifications

Warranty Box uses local notifications and reminders for cases and tasks. Notification scheduling data is stored on the device. The app may restore scheduled local reminders after device restart or app update.

Backup and import

The app can create a local ZIP backup and can import a selected backup file in merge mode. Existing local data remains on the device, and imported records receive new local identifiers.

Backup ZIP files are controlled by the user. If the user saves or shares a ZIP file outside the app, further handling of that file depends on the storage location or external service selected by the user.

Data sharing

Warranty Box does not send user cases, raw OCR text, notes, photos or document files to MW Interactive servers. Data may leave the device only in limited situations such as:

• when the user explicitly exports or shares a backup ZIP or other shared content,
• when the user triggers a Ministry of Finance VAT lookup by NIP,
• when Google services process technical data related to AdMob ads or Google Play Billing.

Children

Warranty Box is not designed as a service for collecting children's data on MW Interactive servers. Because the app works primarily with local storage and does not require accounts, MW Interactive does not knowingly maintain a server database of children's Warranty Box records.

Data deletion

Users can delete data by removing individual cases and tasks inside the app, clearing app data in Android settings, or uninstalling the app. A backup ZIP is a file controlled by the user and should be deleted wherever the user saved it.

Because MW Interactive does not keep a server copy of local Warranty Box data, MW Interactive cannot remotely delete records stored only on the device.
