Controller and producer

ReproSnap is produced by MW Interactive. The public contact data currently used by MW Interactive on its website is support@mwinteractive.com and www.mwinteractive.com.

How the extension works

ReproSnap is a local Chrome and Edge extension for preparing bug reports for websites. It can locally capture user actions, page URL, page element labels, network requests and responses, headers and bodies, console errors, browser and environment details, screenshots, and optional tab recordings.

Where data is stored

ReproSnap data is stored locally in the browser and the extension, including chrome.storage, IndexedDB and the extension's local runtime memory. Exported files are saved only in the location explicitly chosen by the user.

Transfers

ReproSnap does not automatically send reports to MW Interactive. It does not automatically send screenshots or recordings either. Data leaves the computer only when the user intentionally exports and shares a file.

Redaction

Some textual secrets are hidden automatically, but redaction does not guarantee detection of every data point. Images and recordings may still contain visible data from the page, so the user should review the report before sharing it.

Actual extension permissions

  • activeTab - lets the extension act on the active tab after an explicit user action.
  • scripting - supports extension scripting operations and controlled page-context injection.
  • storage - stores rolling buffers and local reports.
  • tabs - reads active-tab metadata and opens the report page.
  • downloads - saves local report exports.
  • alarms - enforces the capture-session timeout in Manifest V3.
  • tabCapture - is used only after the user explicitly starts tab recording.
  • offscreen - runs a local offscreen document for MediaRecorder when tab recording is active.
  • host_permissions for http://localhost/* and http://127.0.0.1/* - support the local demo and test scenario.
  • optional_host_permissions for http://*/* and https://*/* - allow the user to grant access only to explicitly added DEV/TEST origins.

Voluntary monthly payments

Voluntary monthly payments are processed by Stripe on a Stripe-hosted checkout page. ReproSnap and MW Interactive do not receive or store full payment card details. Stripe may process the customer's email address, billing details, payment method, and transaction information according to Stripe's privacy policy.

Support does not require a ReproSnap account, does not unlock features, and does not add raw payment data to ReproSnap.

Retention and deletion

Data is stored locally until the user removes it. Users can delete reports from the local report history. Removing the extension may clear local data according to browser behavior. Exported files remain in the location chosen by the user.

Minors

ReproSnap is a developer tool and is not directed to children.
